Why Entrio
The bookkeeping happens before Xero does.
Entrio doesn’t replace your accounting software. It replaces the hours before you open it.
The stage nobody sells software for
Eight manual steps become one workflow.
Client statements still arrive. The afternoon in Excel doesn’t have to.
- Client sends statements
- Paste into Excel
- Categorise line by line
- Hunt for duplicates
- Check transfers between accounts
- Review
- Reconcile to the bank
- Assemble a trial balance
Most of an afternoon, per client, per year
- Import the statements as the bank produced them
- Categorise on your firm’s rules
- Review the exceptions, not the routine
- Reconcile — gaps surface before export
- Trial balance that foots both ways
Minutes of review instead of hours of typing
- Statutory accounts
- VAT returns and payroll
- Corporation tax
- Companies House filing
- Invoicing and client access
Pick up exactly where you always do. Nothing about your setup changes, and nothing needs migrating.
Your accounting software works transaction by transaction, as they happen. Entrio works engagement by engagement, over a period that already closed — which is why a bank feed, built for a business keeping up, doesn’t help much with a year that’s already finished.
Division of labour
Different tools. Different jobs.
Control, not hype
Entrio is not AI. That’s the feature.
Some bookkeeping software asks you to trust an algorithm. Entrio asks you to trust your own bookkeeping process — rules you control, results you can reproduce, figures you can explain six months later.
The boundary
What Entrio deliberately doesn’t do.
A narrow tool that’s right is worth more than a broad one you have to check.
Entrio does
- Historical reconstruction from bank statements
- Year-end, catch-up and onboarding bookkeeping
- Opening balances and year-end roll-forward
- Manual journals, accruals and prepayments
- Bookkeeping review and bank reconciliation
- Trial balance, P&L, balance sheet
Entrio stops before
- Payroll
- VAT submissions
- Invoicing
- Statutory accounts
- Corporation tax
- Companies House filing
FAQ
The objections, answered once.
Isn’t this just a CSV importer?
Import is only how the data arrives. The product is categorisation on firm-controlled rules, exception review, bank reconciliation, double-entry trial balance, journals for accruals, and an export that refuses to leave while a reconciliation is open. A CSV importer stops at the first step.
Why not do this in Xero?
Xero (and FreeAgent, Sage, QuickBooks) are built for a business keeping books going forward, transaction by transaction — often with a bank feed. Entrio is built for a practice reconstructing a closed period engagement by engagement from the statements the client actually sent. Different tools, different jobs.
Is Entrio AI bookkeeping?
No. Entrio is deterministic and inspectable. Every categorisation traces to a rule you can open. Same statement twice, same trial balance twice. A model that is right 97% of the time still means checking 100% of the lines to find the 3%.
What does Entrio refuse to do?
Payroll, VAT submissions, invoicing, statutory accounts, corporation tax, and Companies House or HMRC filing. That is a design boundary, not a temporary gap. Filing stays with the software you already use for it.
Who is it for?
UK accountants and bookkeepers doing year-end prep, catch-up, new-client reconstruction and shoebox clients — the jobs where bank statements arrive and the hours before accounts production disappear into Excel.
Does Entrio replace my accounts production software?
No. Entrio finishes at a reviewed trial balance — including cash-basis accounts prep for self-employed clients. TaxCalc, IRIS, CCH and similar still handle statutory accounts and filing. Entrio doesn’t replace your accounting software. It replaces the hours before you open it.
Proof, not promises
Entrio is new. So here’s what we can actually show you.
No case studies yet — we’re taking our first firms now. What we can do is let you check the arithmetic, which is the only claim that matters here anyway.
We’d rather show you a reconciliation you can pick apart than a testimonial you can’t check.
